Itinerary

Day 1

 

9.30am until 10.00

Arrive and check in to venue
10.00am until 10.30am   Introduction (Effects or Tricks?)
Welcome and introductions all round. Discuss course objectives and the difference between "effects" and "tricks"
10.30 until 11.00

Workshop 1 (Close-Up Magic)
(Demonstrate, then teach, 4 simple card effects, including ‘Buying a Pub, Ambitious Card, Card in Mouth & A76 Prediction. Included in this session will be easy shuffling and cutting the cards.

11.00am until 11.15am

Coffee

11.15am until 12.15 pm

Workshop 1 (Close-Up Magic) Cont'd

12.15pm until 1.00 pm

Workshop 2 (Presence and use of the audience)  
(How to involve the audience, allowing the magic to happen in their hands, plus preserving your ability to amaze others)

1.00 pm until 2.00pm

Lunch    

2.00pm until 3.00pm

Workshop 3 (Mind reading)
(Demonstrate then teach 3 simple mind-reading effects - Read their thoughts, Telephone Numbers & Memory lapse)

3.00pm until 3.30 pm

Tea

3.30 until 5.00pm

Workshop 4 (Developing your own effects part 1)
(Continue teaching / practicing effects learned earlier in the day)
5.00pm until 7.30 Leisure and use of hotel facilities 

7.30 pm

Dinner  
(Who knows what magical things will happen at the dinner table!)


Day 2
7.30am until 9.30am

Breakfast

10.00am until 11.30am

Workshop 5 (Developing your own effects part 2)
(Continue practicing effects learned the previous day but targeted towards individual interests and those that have gripped your imagination)

Coffee

11.45am until 1pm

Workshop 6 (Where could you go from here?)
(Short demonstration of more advanced effects using the principles already discussed.  Followed by discussion on magical topics of your choice)
 

Lunch
 

It’s your turn!
(A fun filled mix and mingle session where you get to perform 1 or 2 effects that you have learned.  It really doesn’t matter what or how you do - just ‘Have a Go’!)
