TERMS and CONDITIONS
General information
Conditions of Booking
The following Terms and Conditions (the condition of booking) and requirements contained in this brochure/website as above, will apply to your booking.
1. General
a) The person who makes the booking will be accepting the terms and conditions on behalf of the whole break/course party.
It's this person's responsibility to ensure that all members of the party are aware and accept the whole of these terms and conditions and of the obligations contained within them.
b) Please note that a contract is not made until acceptance of the booking by It's a Funny Business Ltd issuing a written confirmation and your deposit/full payment has been cleared.
c) In the event of It's a Funny Business Ltd receiving a break/course booking deposit or balance payment which is subsequently returned unpaid by the bank or card acquirer, a £25.00 administration fee will be added to the balance payment due.
d) You must comply with any reasonable guidance given to you by us and any notices at your venue.
e) Please note that we accept no liability for loss or damage to your possessions unless due to our negligence.
f) All bookings are subject to availability. Please note that this brochure/website supersedes all previous conditions and any guidance we may have communicated to you.
2. Brochure/website prices
We guarantee that the price of your break/course will be as agreed and shown on your booking confirmation for your party size, save that we reserve the right to amend prices where there is an increase in VAT or any other tax, fee or levy applicable to your break.
Please note that all prices are inclusive of VAT. We reserve the right to raise or lower our prices at any time prior to booking, whether by a subsequent brochure or by any other communication.
3. Changes to your break/course by you
After you've paid your deposit or full balance payment you may wish to change some elements of the break/course - e.g. location.
In order to enable us to try to meet your request, we would ask where possible to request such changes as soon as is practically possible before the break/course start date, and where we can meet your needs a charge of £25.00 per alteration to the break/course may be payable to cover administration costs. But where you wish to make a substantial change to your break/course, such as a change of break/course date, this will be deemed a cancellation. (see section 4. Cancellation Charges)
Should you wish to change the location of your break/course to another of our venues on the same or different date we shall endeavour to accommodate you, but if we cannot, for example, where there is no alternative date available, then this will be treated as a cancellation and the cancellation charges will apply.
4. Cancellation Charges
As soon as you know that the break will need to be cancelled, ring It's a Funny Business Ltd. on 01295 259657 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm)
Cancellation charges are calculated from the date that your written instructions are received by us.
Where written notice of cancellation is received the amount payable is as follows:

5. Cancellation following non-arrival
If you have not arrived by 2 hours after your break/course was due to commence, or contacted the hotel/conference centre to confirm when you will arrive, we will assume that the break/course is cancelled.
Please note that the total cost of the break/course will be retained.
6. If we cancel or change your break/course
We try very hard not to change or cancel your break/course, but where it is necessary we will advise you or tour agent as soon as possible.
If we cancel your break/course or make any significant alterations such as changing the date or destination then (provided such cancellation or changes have nor arisen from circumstances beyond our reasonable control) you have a choice of either:
a) A replacement break/course of at least comparable to the standard and of the same value booked, or
b) A replacement break/course of lesser value, together with the difference in price between the replacement break/course and the break/course booked, payable to you, or
c) A replacement break of higher value where upon the difference in price between the original break/course and subsequent break/course is payable to us, or
d) A full refund
In addition to the above, and provided it does not arise from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we will pay you compensation for any definable loss incurred.
7. Limitation of liability
We accept responsibility for those arrangements for your break/course which are within our control, but we cannot accept liability for any injury, loss or damage suffered by you or any member of your party, unless one of the following applies: -
1. There was wilful default by us, our employees or agents, or
2. Death or personal injury was caused by the negligence of us, our employees or agents.
For all claims other than death or personal injury, which result from the non performance or improper performance of the contract by It's a Funny Business Ltd., we will pay compensation that is reasonable in all circumstances.
You are asked to notify any shortcoming or complaint hotel/conference centre duty manager as soon as possible so that wherever possible it can be remedied for you at the time. Any complaint that is brought to our attention after your break/course should be made in writing to the Managing Director, It's a Funny Business Ltd. as soon as possible to enable us to carry out an investigation. Claims may be reduced or rejected if we've not been given the opportunity to put matters right.

Important information for disabled guests
In order to avoid disappointment and/or misunderstandings, please call us to discuss any needs that you may have. This will enable us to advise on the suitability of facilities to the extent that reasonable adaptations can be made if necessary.

Please note some wheelchairs are available at our hotels. Advance booking is required as wheelchair numbers are limited.
Any special arrangements must be agreed at the time of booking and confirmed in writing to us prior to arrival. It's a Funny Business Ltd does not accept responsibility for any costs incurred for special arrangements and such costs may be forwarded on to you.
Please note our hotels/conference centres are NOT equipped to provide medical attention.
Fire safety policy for disabled guests
Your safety is our concern. If you are unable to hear a fire alarm then please advise us at the time you make your booking, as we may be able to provide an alternative alarm option. If you use a wheelchair and cannot ascend or descend stairs in the case of an emergency, please advise us and request an "Evacuate Friendly" room. Please note that there is a limited availability of rooms.
Special menu requirements
All our restaurants provide vegetarian options. Should anyone in your party have any other dietary requirements, please let us know when you book your break/course so that we can endeavour where possible to assist with any special arrangements. If you have a special request regarding your restaurant table, please contact the restaurant manager prior to your arrival at the hotel booked, and we will try to accommodate your request.
Infectious or contagious diseases
Please note that for Health and Safety reasons we cannot accommodate guests who have an infectious or contagious medical condition. If you have had such a condition within 14 days prior to your arrival, please let us know and supply a doctor's certification to indicate that your condition is no longer contagious. Should any guest or member of your party be ill upon arrival or during your stay, please advise the reception desk immediately. Contagious and infectious diseases can be passed on to other guests, and in order to protect such guests and staff it is important that we are informed. We reserve the right to require you and your party to leave or be confined to your room if we believe that such a condition makes this necessary. Please note that in such circumstances, as they are not under our control, we are under no duty to offer refunds.
Local activities
It's a Funny Business Ltd will make no information available to guests in connection with activities in the local area that are run by third parties and are run separately. All contractual arrangements connected with these activities are therefore between the guests and the activities provider.
Guests who participate in these activities do so at their own risk.
Age restrictions
Our breaks/courses are tailored for people over the age of 18 years. Accordingly we reserve the right to decline entry to persons below that age.
Please take care!
We know that the proprietors of our hotels/conference centres like to keep them in good condition and require that you treat them with respect and care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. In the event that you notice any damage to any facility or in your accommodation, please report it to reception immediately so that necessary repairs can be undertaken. Accommodation will be checked at the end of the break/course, and you may be charged for any loss or damage found. The proprietors reserve the right to enter accommodation when reasonable to do so.
Undesirable behaviour
We reserve the right to terminate a weekend/course without compensation, where we believe that the unreasonable behaviour of any of the persons named on the relevant booking or their guests might impair the enjoyment, comfort, health or safety of other guests, our staff or the public.
Brochure/website accuracy
We take care to ensure that that at the time of going to press the details in this brochure/website were accurate regarding the description and information about facilities available, or were planned to be available, at each hotel/conference centre.

Availability of facilities
All facilities are subject to availability. It is possible that accommodation, services or facilities may need to be adjusted or withdrawn temporarily due to maintenance, legal requirements and/or good practice. The breaks/courses advertised in any brochure/website are also subject to change for reasons beyond our control without prior notice. We reserve the right to make such alterations without prior notice, and are unable to accept any liability arising from such changes. If material changes occur in advance of your arrival we will endeavour to advise of such changes. The proprietors (of the venues) do invest substantial sums in upgrading and refurbishing their facilities. We apologise in advance if there are any alterations taking place, and will aim that any possible disruption is minimised by ensuring that as far as possible the works will only occur during the daytime.
Data Protection Policy Statement
It's a Funny Business Ltd will use the personal information that you provide to us and/or any information which is provided to us by a booking agent or travel agent to process your booking and provide you with your weekend/course. We may need to pass your information to third party service providers if you have requested additional facilities.
It's a Funny Business and our appointed third party agents will also use your information for internal statistical, market research and records purposes. Your information may also be used to send you details of other products or services brought to you by It's a Funny Business Ltd.
